Put Ya Effort Where Ya Mouth Is

I'm not trying to overwhelm you with the MLK blast. My boo Octavious already hit you with his thoughts, but this is a blog with 4 very different individuals...so expect 3 more...or maybe just mine.

ANYwhoooo, today is a day that was made to honor the birthday and accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. However, 2day also marks the anniversary of the holiday....25 years. That is truly a feat in history.

I was talking to my mommy the other day and she was showing me all of her buttons that she had collected back in the day...and I'm talkin' TRULY back in the day as in the 60s and 70s...black power ish, Malcolm X, and of course MLK. Me being a button fanatic, I wanted all of them to have...but the meaning of them all didn't hit me until she explained (however, she did end up giving me her 'FREE ANGELA' button #FTW!). One of the buttons she had was one that was created in the efforts to pass MLK Day as an actual holiday...Well look where we are now...HEY HEY HEY!!!

After thinking about it, it's amazing to me how much work it takes trying to get a holiday passed....but to get a holiday passed in honor of a BLACK MAN??.....almost unheard of (especially back then). I was going to treat this holiday like all of the other holidays and enjoy my day off of school/work by playing Sims on the computer and rocking out to some Guitar Hero because I'm cool like that...But due to recent events (such as having a black President, the Haiti disaster, & much more...good and bad), I feel the need to take the time to reflect on my blessings. I am truly a blessed individual...thanks to the Lord and for Him putting "heroes" here on this Earth. People may pick to find negativity in these individuals, but I refuse to shun a brotha, or a sista, who works his/her a$$ off for a change. Am I or you doing the same?...We still have things to work on...from the masses of our planet all the way to our communities. However, change doesn't come without effort. So for all you people who strive to find what is wrong with MLK (and other individuals who have worked for a change), pause to think about your blessings and your progress...which, in part, is due to the efforts of those same hardworkers you blast on. As for the minorities (and our caucasian supporters), we would not be where we are today without the effort of "the King". Take the time out (even if it's a few minutes), to appreciate the change....even though there is more to come...

"An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity."
-- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

STANK Is No Good In A Learning Atmosphere #fact

This is my little niece Tamera....4 years of age. I love her....just as goofy as I am...(just in a smaller body). My oldest sister/ her mama called me last night to tell me that Tamera had gotten in trouble at school. My 1st reaction was 'O LAWD' because my sister is "that one parent" who tries to take any situation her kids are involved in to court. So I was waiting for there to be a big uproar. Well....that actually wasn't the case this time. According to my sister, (after a long "conference" with the teacher) Tamera deserved her punishment....which was a timeout in the corner *sad face*. I'm sure you all wanna know what she did (If u don't, F-U & keep reading anyway)...She simply kept changing seats because she did not want to sit by the stank kid in the class....The teacher kept telling her to sit still but she wouldn't. Ok...if I was the teacher, this would not be a big deal!!! I would simply help Tamera find a comfortable place (assigned seats ain't ISH by the way). I have been in Tamera's position before...1st grade....got in trouble for not wanting to sit by the "boy who smelled like pee". So I know her pain!! It's not a good thing to have to endure such STANK! All she wanted to do was find a comfortable seat/area so she could simply learn her lessons for the day *innocent face*.

Ok so maybe i am playing the "over-protective" role as the aunt, but #imjustsayin (<--Twitter lingo). Teachers should be aware of the stank kids in the classroom. And they can't tell me that they don't know who they are. If a 4-year-old notices a foul aroma, I know the grown person in charge will. It's time to take a stand teachers!! You have 4-year-olds who are hinting to you that they are in pain & suffering! Do you want this to distract them from their studies so they can turn into deadbeats and crack hoes when they get older because YOU didn't allow them to get comfortable and move away from the smelly distraction!?! Contact the stank kids' parents and let them know the deal. If you see that the stank kids' parents are stank too....offer them a business card to the nearest therapy counseling in the area....because this is TRULY a problem!!

Let's all take a stand and promote good hygiene!!!

Twiggy's Vent Session

I went to SYGU's "2010" party last night and had a BLAST!...Got my groove on and kicked it with the homies. If anyone knows me, you would know that I can basically dance/jam to anything (minus J.Lo). But when I am grooving and I get interrupted by BS talk from a DJ....then that is a NO GO BUDDY! There was one DJ who happened to blow out 1/2 of my ear drum due to excessive screaming...not to mention, I couldn't understand him because he was speaking the same language as Donnie from the Wild Thornberrys. But ANYwhooo, after I finally became accustomed to this "sound", here he comes with this nonsense (and this was said/done multiple times):

"This is for the people 25 and older!...If you not 25 and older, you probably don't kno' nuthin bout this!!....If you 25 and older raise ya hands!!!....These young folks don't know about this!!"

*blank face* If I recall, this was a 21 and up event...so um....yea....what's up with this "25 & up" talk??....But that is besides the point. If you are going to pick an age to stretch the generation gap...at least go for 30-40. Because 25 is ONLY 3 years older than me....so tell me how I couldn't be on the same stuff they are on. So you tellin ME that these 25-year-olds were 3 years old rockin' out to some Slick Rick and Run DMC??...maybe so...but I know for a fact you didn't know what they were talking about and probably didn't learn the lyrics until you printed them out on AZLyrics.com in the late 90s. But THAT is besides the point...(not really but let me make my closing statement):

MUSIC HAS NO AGE!!

Do artists make music with an expiration date?....I sure hope not. That would mean that they have no true passion. Music lives on forever. So stuff from the past has caught up to me in this present day...for me to enjoy and jam WITH you if not MORE than you. Just check my iPod. The range is CrrAzyy! Just PLEASE....stop trying to feel special by putting yourself in a certain category....because besides the birth date, I've probably already been there. You might just learn from me. Think about it.

-CASE CLOSED-

The End.

Face The Facts

If you are unaware....up above is a picture of TV personality Bobby Jones who has his own show that plays Sundays on BET called Bobby Jones Gospel. My mother feels the need to play this on Sunday mornings....I guess because it is "Church day"...but I steer CLEAR of the television when Bobby Jones is on (I watch SpongeBob on Sunday mornings!)

Bobby Jones has been on since I was a kid...but besides my family...I have YET to hear someone admit that they think he is obviously a gay-flamboyant male who shows his colors in a place where homosexuality is usually looked down upon (or is that a stereotype?). Don't take this as me being homophobic. If I could find more gay friends, I would (pretty good confidants)...But it's weird that Christians go so hard about gays but when its someone that they know and adore, then the tables turn and they just ignore it. But I am sorry.....this man is trying to show you that he likes other males!!...I want this to be acknowledged and I want to go on with my life. I kno I kno...it's probably not a big deal to you all but this has bothered me since the age of 7 so I need this to come to light for my well-being. Even if the audience shouted out.."WE LOVE YOU GAY BOBBY!"...I would be beyond satisfied.

On another note...I boycott his show...not because he is gay....but because I feel like he thinks he is the ish and I think he's an arrogant mutha-SHUT YO MOUTH!

THE END.

PSA for hoes in the fast lane

I am soooo over traffic! I have the hardest time getting to school in the morning because the St. Louis area decides to do the bulk of their construction at high points in traffic. Today I felt like exploding in a large-sized flame on the highway. Hopefully my life would be revived and I would get a new car. But ANYwhoo...that's besides the point. Besides the excessive brake lights and snail-like speeds, impatient drivers in bad weather conditions is what REALLY grinds my gears! If you ride my bumper...and I have no way of speeding up due to a car literally 2 inches in front of me...where do you think that will get you??...NO WHERE!! So not only did you just make yourself upset for no reason but you made me even MORE irritated than I already was and now you have given me a reason to put a hit out on you....but I digress. I am not a violent person.
However, while sitting in traffic...of course I have nothing to do but think. I came up with the idea of putting a LED screen in the back of my car for wreckless drivers behind me to read. The closer you are to my bumper...the easier it is for you to read and that means this message was obviously directed at you. Here are some of the things that my LED screen would read:
• Good morning hoes!!
• I can extract rifles out the back of my tires....don't make me use them
• Where ya headed???...NO WHERE!
• Care to get in an accident today?
• Care to lose the case?
• I can extract midgets with armed weapons out the back of my trunk...don't make me use them.
• Please stop....don't make me "get buck"
• "Who gon' check meh boo?"
• *insert middle finger here*
• I hate my car anyway. And I would love your money. Can't wait for you to hit it *smile*
• "I say whoops...up..side ya head. I say whoops upside ya head"
WHO GON HELP ME CREATE THIS?!....(After this, we will be inventing a teleporting machine. Get ready)

Vent Session

The news has been CRAAAZY lately! I am already not fond of the news anyway because I gain NO positive insight from it. But if you are a web browser, you can't help but get a glimpse of the heavy material that the news publishes constantly. With that said, I am sure that most of you have heard of the incident that recently occurred in Chicago with a 16-year-old student named Derrion Albert. He was beaten by gangs around his school which lead to his death. POINTLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was there any type of positive consequence from killing this innocent kid? NOPE!! In my opinion, gangs have never had a reason to exist. It portrays individuals who are scared to fight their own battles (if a fight is even necessary). I have no remorse for individuals that were purposely involved in this. Not even in this fight...but in other ones. Time to get a new outlook buddy. The one you got is garbage.

But on another note, I am SURE You heard about the bus fight at Belleville West high school that actually made national news because SUPPOSEDLY this fight was the result of a hate crime (doubt that). This fight was truly a shame, but there are way worst events going on around the country (such as the Derrion Albert incident) and for this to make the news is crazy. There were CRAZY fights when I was in high school but none of them hit the press like this. I just think it's time for everyone to get their priorities together. Hopefully, my little opinion matters...especially to all you "gang-bangers" that read MadeMonarchs.com . (hehe)

TAKE IT IN STRIDE AND LET THE LORD BE YOUR GUIDE!! :)

Mushy Boo Boo

So me and my significant other (Octavius) were walking to class today as we usually do and we were stopped by an acquaintance. She says..."Why don't you guys ever hold hands?"....a *blank face* is what she was given by the both of us. Should I have felt offended?.........I'm kidding. But really. Give me ONE valid reason of why we should hold hands?...ESPECIALLY while walking to class. I mean...you can TRY to give me a reason but I honestly doubt that I will approve of it. We hold hands only when crossing the street (for safety reasons) and we occasionally lock arms (which is the preferred way). Other than that...the closest you will get seeing me and Adrian holding hands is this:

Holding hands is out of the question.

Mushy Gushy

Ok so Keyshia Cole done went and got the side of her head shaved off like every other chick celeb. I DON'T CARE! However I will give her props...she tried to be different and put the tinted stars up in there. But THEN I see that her boo, athlete 'Boobie' Gibson has the tinted stars as well!!! AIN'T THAT SWEET?!....nah. I could care less. These two are VERY lovey dovey mushy gushy. It's cute but I don't want them to take it too far. And then end up breaking up. And act like ish was NEVER cool between them. We have proof guys because you two are going HARD! So I will just stop here and end by wishing this couple a successful and long-lasting relationship. I don't want them to break up. That would be a waste of my time ANNNDDD most likely yours. Let us all pray for them.

I MISS LIL KIM'S FREAK DAYS

The "Turn My Swag On" remix really made me reflect on Lil Kim's history. I am not feeling this new Lil Kim AT ALL! F the autotune and singing Kim. Bring back that nasty na-na RAPping about twat and hittin' that like a G and the deep voice wit the "UH!" I miss Lil Kim from these days:

p.s. The beat change when Biggie comes in is one of my favorite parts in a song EVERRR!!!

Incompletion

So you know that the Jordan 11 "Space Jams" are re-releasing this winter. YUP! *sigh* and an upcoming tear for the statement I am about to make. WELLLLL...someone told me that they do not think the Jordan brand will be releasing Youth sizes in this shoe.....*LONG pause*.....

If you didn't know, Jordan 11s are my favorite Jordan of them ALL and were the first pair of Jordans that I ever had (the concords in the 3rd grade). If this is true, I will have to release myself as a Jordan consumer and stray away from the brand for their disloyalty and discrimination. I thought we had a bond. And if they came out with these shoes in ONLY men sizes, I JUST might have to burn something down. If you wear these around me and I can't have them (*cough cough* OCTAVIOUS!!), I JUST might have to end a relationship or to anyone else...a friendship because of your disrespect. You can say what you want (i.e. "i'ma wear 'em anyway") but I will STILL make sure to fock up your day and maybe your shoe. This shoe is WAYYYY more important to me than you realize. My love for it is beyond yours so save the competition. If I can't get these, i WILL cry and this chick right here rarely sheds tears unless Will Smith cries. You don't wanna see me in this state. I JUST might turn into those monsters from "The People Under the Stairs."

So Beware. Don't blame me. Blame the Jordan brand.

So for all you folks goin hard about Michael...not giving him respect especially at this time....SUCK IT!!! This ninja is still better than YOU!!!

UNFAIR!

So I couldn't get the first Air Yeezy's released because they don't come in my size. I wear a 6 in youth size. Now these black and pink ones are coming out as well (Kanye had em' on in the Keri Hilson vid). I am LIVID!!!!! I am so tired of not being able to get the shoes i like because they don't offer them in my size. It's unfair to the "sneaker-adorers" with small feet! I am taking this up with the company. Check me out on the news...coming soon.

Twiggy's Unhealthy 2009...So far...

So I'm sitting at home...bored as hell...isolated...Can't be around people. Can't be in the cold air. Sucks ass. One of the reasons why my 2009 is a little off..so far.

But let's start from the get-go. First worst case:
I get into an accident on the way to celebrate with my friend Mr. Nesbitt for his birthday.
Four reasons why this sucks:
1. my car is totaled
2. I have to depend on other means of transportation besides my own
3. I missed Mr. Nesbitt's ACTUAL 21st! (even though I caught up a lil bit later on but its not the same)
4. I had bad pain from whiplash and my visit at the emergency room was quite abnormal
5. Unexpectedly, I now have to spend my refund check on another car (There goes my moolah)
*BIG sigh*

That is not all...

Go back up to the beginning of this post...

Are you wondering why I am isolated in my own home and why I am restricted from the loved ones around me?

I have the flu...and it's bad. Going to the doctor because of this was a horrendous experience. I had to drive to the doctor alone with random dizzy spells (not safe). I could barely walk into the doctor's office because of the worst body aches ever. When I was admitted, my temperature had went up to 104. Now here is a really bad part...to test if you have the flu, the nurse has to stick a long, thin cotton swab to the back of both nostrils. PAINFUL!!! I cried like a b*tch (Not sobbing but tears falling uncontrollably with the blankest expression ever on my face). When the doctor came back and told me the results, this is how she said it: "Well...you tested positive for Type A Influenza." Well got damn!! You would think I had AIDS! You coulda just made it simple and said I had a bad flu b*tch. ANYwhooo...due to my illness, I have to miss out on sooo many things! That makes me extremely *literally just gagged on my PB&J* sad. BUT in all tragedy, I still keep my spirits high. Wish me luck on the rest of the year. Prayer will do too. =)
