I've worked for about 2 hours on this dress and Haven't sewed a thing! (It's all cut and Pinned together) I got the shape I was going for, but I lost my path when it came to the placement of the zipper and the connection between the Bodice, peplum and then to the skirt.
I thought because I knew how to cut this shape out just by thinking about it that I would be able to sew it easily and make a few more for the show next week. . . It just might not be happening.
If I found more time to spend in the Thrift Shops and Resale stores like I used to, I would be able to achieve this exact look. I'm definitely inspired by the Spring Military look. The serious and clean cuts of military clothes are usually released in winter collections, but Nom De Guerre has stepped away from past occurences.
As some have already seen and heard, clothing brand Stussy recently did a tribute on the late J DILLA that included a shirt release and a mini documentary. J DILLA aka JAY DEE is probably one of, if not the most influential producer in hip hop's history. His ability and talent were way before his time and his work continues to influence various people worldwide (including myself) to this day.
Here's a look at the shirt drop Stussy did....
And here is the documentary in it's entirety, Stussy did a great job of showcasing his talent and impact he had on the music industry.
This what happens sometimes when I get bored and have a little time on hand, I make stuff, most of the time with no real purpose or intent other then the fact I enjoy making stuff...sooooo I made a quick short on denim since I am infatuated with the fabric. Enjoy.
Life is funny, I didn't realize until this week that I'm going to present my clothes in MY FIRST FASHION SHOW. and I won't be there! I have a conference in Texas (on the $hool's wallet). So a friend of mine offered to Represent my brand at the show.
I sent her the mood boards and style sheets so that she gets the look correct, which I'm sure she will do fine. My look is a hard one to mistake, hopefully you are starting to see my niche as well. I guess I'm going to do about 6 looks, and i wanted the majority of the models to have on bowties.
I usually make the REAL kind you have to tie but I know that every one doesn't like to put forth the effort, and because I won't be there to fix the Perfect-Imperfect knots I opted for the fixed bow-ties.
For my added aesthetic and style I used buttons instead of clips or hooks on the neck sizer. That definitely takes these bow-ties back in time. Go with me - - -> [Iamme Collective]
Now I must admit, I haven't really followed Timberland for real since dudes were rocking the 6 inch wheat joints back in high school. But with the introduction of models like the EarthKeeper and collaborations with some dope menswear brands like below, Timberland has stepped their image up past the simple work boot stigma that it used to have. The collaboration with Rag & Bone was a definite win in my book, a good sturdy boot with classic and subtle styling. The bottom two definitely caught my out of the bunch, but truthfully I'm feeling all of them.
So seeing as I have the all the movie channels and no regular cable channels bootleg) I had to watch bad girls the day after everyone #CharterOnDemand it wasn't as interesting as I wanted but it is always good to see breastess jumbling and fists flying.
Anyway I decided to "finish" my test duffle, I wanted to practice this shape out to see how it works and I learned alot.
The Fabric is great! , The Straps are too short and thick,
The piping is not just for decor it gives the bag shape [ thats why it's floppy and frumpy]
Add a zipper and a shoulder straps and "WE IN DURR" The Actual product that will be used in the real world outside my Atelier will be constructed with greater detail, craftsmanship, and functionality. Continuous trial and error is how the best products get to the top of the market.
LV, Moncler, and Tanner goods are expensive because of the work and quality that goes into them, not the hype[beast].
MY PRODUCT DESCRIPTION RELEASE MADE IT ONTO HYPEBEAST!
One of the companies I'm doing PR work for had me write up product descriptions. (that was yesterday, and today it's on Hypebeast). I wonder whats next?

His body was discovered at his property in Green Street, in the West End, shortly after 10am today. Paramedics were called but he was pronounced dead at the scene. A postmortem has been scheduled but police said his death was not being treated as suspicious. They would not comment on reports he had killed himself.
A spokeswoman for McQueen said: "Mr McQueen was found dead this morning at his home. We're devastated and I hope you understand that out of respect to his family and his colleagues we're not going to be making any further statement."
The death comes days before the start of London fashion week and a month before the designer was to unveil his new collection at Paris fashion week.
I've always been a fan of Regalia and Royalty inspired clothing. And McQueen has always delivered that. Below are some of my Favorite Alexander Mcqueen pieces between 2007 and 2010. It's definitely sad to see some one go at the Peak of their success.
Vimby gives us a nice run down and interview of The Brooklyn Circus.... This is kind of random, but it's always interesting to see how people actually sound talking if you've never heard them before but follow them. I don't know maybe that's just me lol....anywhoo on to the video
Alexander McQueen's Collection inspired by "Plato's Atlantis"
is the best of Spring 2010 in my opinion.
All of the dresses are prints of aquatic scenes, creatures, and landscapes fused into intricate ink plot-like designs full of color.
And of course we all know the shoes by now. And for the people that think her toes are literally going straight down. . . catch a clue, her foot is still in the regular stilleto stance, its just on 5 inch platform with a big round shape on top, having that makes it look like its arching all the way down into a ballet point.
Either way It's amazing to see how things can be brought to life through clothes.

I completely agree with the premise of this Fashion Editorial, If you can't read the text below it says that in a time where every one is being conservative, serious, and boring because of the economic downturn, they want to still bring dreams to reality, and shake things up.
When it comes to music, beats/instrumental always resonate with me way better then lyrical stuff does. Dont get me wrong though, i love lyricism as much as the next dude, i just prefer to hear the sound of music/instruments themselves. A lot of times i will just sit on the computer watching cats on mpc's and asr's or fruity loops and reason just making beats and always dope to see everybody's own interpertation of how to flip a sample. Perfect example is the video below Billy Paul "Let The Dollar Circulate"
Also when you listen to the song its interesting that a song made in 1975 is so relevant to today's economic state...music is timeless
So first we have 9th Wonder's version, if you know anything about this guy's production then you know his drum layouts go HARD!
Next up we have the legendary J DILLA who made this track for Steve Spacek, ILL, but what else do you expect from the man Jay Dee (R.I.P)
Then last up we have Don Cannon's, better known as CANNON, track he did for young jeezy off the reccession album.
All three were pretty good flips but it was something 9th Wonders drums that practically had me snapping my neck from so much head nodding lol. Dont get me wrong though, Dilla's version was still insane and classic it was just something about the simplicity's in 9th's. And as for CANNON's/Jeezy's well.....umm no hate, but it was pretty much just the sample chopped in a few places and a few drums *shrug* thats just me though...anywhoo music is dope...that is all...lol
What do you get when you blend a dope song and amazing visuals?? Muhsinah's video for her song Rediscovered.... It may be short but it has some better cinematography then i've seen full length music videos...Really puts things into perspective like what really holds your value....Idk maybe im just rambling lol...anywhoo check it out...
Now im a big cinema fan but more then anything i like a good concept and execution of the concept. This Famous Stars and Straps skate vid is a testament to the fact that good cinematography + great concept + and even better execution comes together perfectly. Watch and enjoy...
If I am not on MadeMonarchs.com , you can find me on Looklet. Looklet is a mighTyyyyy dope website that gives anyone the chance to prove their style. My career goal in the past was to be a fashion stylist for celebs/socialites/whatchamacallits....but that was a no-go. Now I can pretend to be one through the web!! *excited glow* You should try it out. I promise it's dope. You get to pick the given models that fit the look you're going for. You style the model using name brand clothing items from the hottest designers/labels (i.e. Marc Jacobs, Jeremy Scott, Urban Outfitters, Chanel....mm hmm....all dat ish). Then...you can choose a background. In the end, you will name your style. Usually I name it whatever pops into my head first...no boundaries...so if I see "Bullsh*t", that is what it will be called. (SIDENOTE: For all of you males who are into this type of this ish...sorry but there is no love for you on Looklet. Because....well...women are cool). ANYwhoooo, check out some of my recent creations:
Every now and then, a stylist's design makes it to the front page. Guess who made it there???....ME!!! YOU GOT IT!! The style below was actually featured (hence the stamp) and received nice views. However, this is actually one of my least favorites. I have WAYYY hotter...trust. But receiveth and I shall taketh. <<<---Twiggy said it.
This is a Thank You and Wrap Up from the MadeMonarchs, didnt have enough space to put everything but this is just a lil re-run of some of the events and festivities the Monarchs and friends through 09, enjoy and 2010 look out for more to come and new things from MM!
Recently on Octavius's and Mik G's radio show (Waitin For The DJ) we had guest that included Will H., Prince Ea, Mic Young, A-Game, and Mc/Skateboarder Jabari Pendelton. While the show went on I got a chance to talk with Jabari about some of the stuff he's doing. He's a St.Louis native currently out in the west coast skating for different brands and just grinding hard...*no pun intended.* Well turns out dude def has skills when it comes to skating check out this vid of him doing his thing....btw the intro is HECKA funny!
ps. we got some stuff we're collabing on too, so be on the look out for that coming up soon yall
