Alexander McQueen Commits Suicide

Lee Alexander McQueen
(3/17/1969 - 2/11/2010)
_______________________________________

The British fashion designer Alexander McQueen has been found dead at his London home at the age of 40.

His body was discovered at his property in Green Street, in the West End, shortly after 10am today. Paramedics were called but he was pronounced dead at the scene. A postmortem has been scheduled but police said his death was not being treated as suspicious. They would not comment on reports he had killed himself.

A spokeswoman for McQueen said: "Mr McQueen was found dead this morning at his home. We're devastated and I hope you understand that out of respect to his family and his colleagues we're not going to be making any further statement."

The death comes days before the start of London fashion week and a month before the designer was to unveil his new collection at Paris fashion week.

I've always been a fan of Regalia and Royalty inspired clothing. And McQueen has always delivered that. Below are some of my Favorite Alexander Mcqueen pieces between 2007 and 2010. It's definitely sad to see some one go at the Peak of their success.

#HelpHaiti

Yesterday, Haiti was hit with a 7.0-magnitude earthquake (followed by a series of strong aftershocks) that spawned complete, utter chaos and destruction upon the country.....needless to say, the death toll is outstandingly high. Buildings collapsed on top of each other...including schools, hospitals, and the embassy. Many dead bodies were found under the rubble. However, you can hear many people yelling and crying for help as they are trapped under the fallen structures. The worst hit was an impoverished area called Port-Au-Prince. Haiti was already aware of their poorly constructed buildings so, of course, it was nearly impossible to withstand a heavy-hitting natural disaster such as this. Obama is already sending troops and prayers out to help with the devastation....along with surrounding countries. Countries such as Spain and the Dominican Republic were also hit with the earthquake but none suffered superabundant damages like Haiti.

DO YOUR PART TO HELP THE CAUSE!!!

Disaster relief organizations are mobilizing to aid Haiti - and are asking or help. Funds are needed to provide enough safe water, temporary shelter and vital medical supplies.

UNICEF and Save the Children already have emergency teams in Haiti, and the Red Cross has released $200,000 in disaster funds.

You can donate to these groups:

- Text Yele. Wyclef Jean is urging donors to text 'Yele' to 501501 and make a $5 contribution to the relief effort over cell phone. Click here to get more information via Wyclef's Twitter page.

- Save the Children. Donate at savethechildren.org or make checks out to "Save the Children" and mail to: Save the Children Income Processing Department, 54 Wilton Road, Westport, Conn. 06880

- UNICEF. Go online to unicefusa.org/haitiquake or call (800) 4UNICEF.

- Red Cross. Go online to redcross.org and click Donate, or call (800) REDCROSS.

- Direct Relief International. Donate online at directrelief.org.

- Mercy Corp. Go online to mercycorps.org or mail checks to Haiti Earthquake Fund, Dept. NR, PO Box 2669, Portland, Ore. 97208 or call (888) 256-1900

To find information about friends and family in Haiti: The U.S. State Department set up a toll-free number to call for information about family members in Haiti: 1-888-407-4747.

Disasters like this happen every now and then, but people care less when it doesn't hit close to home. All I can say is, put yourself in their shoes. What if your family and/or friends were there? What if this was you?!...caught in all of this against your choice. I'm not saying to gather your "troops" and head to Haiti (unless you are able)....but do your part by participating in these EASY ways to help out. TAKE A STAND PEOPLE!!!

The Monarchs are working on a plan to help out in our own way. Watch out for us and SUPPORT!!

Brittany Murphy passes...age 32

I know her as Tai from Clueless....others may kno her as Eminem's beau on 8 Mile...or even as Ashton Kutcher's leading lady. However, the young lady passed this morning due to a cardiac arrest. She was pronounced dead on arrival [at hospital].

Hearts & Prayers go out to Brittany's family.
I am going to watch Clueless in honor of her *tear*

The Unknown

My good friend E. Red said she was scrolling through Blockbuster one day and seen 2 black dudes on the DVD pictured above that looked highly familiar. *light bulb* HEY! THAT'S ICE CUBE & MIKE EPPS! Black people like these guys!! I thought that Cube Vision (Ice Cube's film company) had movies that hit theaters...regardless of flops...but hmm....I don't remember seeing this at theatres.....hmm.....wait....did this go straight to DVD??!!! *gasp*!! Movies like this aren't even given the benefit of the doubt to pull in their committed mediocre audience in theatres so they are thrown into the video stores...i think (or is it just me?)...for the heck of it. That is truly unfortunate. I wouldn't have paid a dime to see this movie in theatres OR to rent it for the mere price of $1. But I feel the need to watch it because it's always nice to receive a few chuckles from low-budget quality things. The movie is on YouTube if you would like to join me. *shrug*

P.S. I couldn't even find the trailer for this deal. This has been stamped: DEAD!

Crack is Wack

So me and Mr. Nesbitt like to peruse the Red Carpet Fashion Awards site every now and then and judge people (check it out HERE). It's basically a site that shows celebrities/socialites wearing fashions from runway or from popular clothing stores. Mr. Nesbitt likes to guess outfits that I would like and I like to dream that I had those outfits. Well the other day, we scrolled into horror land (on accident) and saw Miss Lindsay Lohan. Now we ALL know that this chick has been goin' thru major stuff...but I guess it didn't really hit neither me nor Nesbitt until we saw this picture. I mean look at the image above...(*breaks so you all can truly study the image*).....Doesn't she look like a CERTIFIED CRACK HOE!?? I mean WOW! She looks like a heroine abuser from the mid '90s. Lindsay...I can't take this anymore. I coulda sworn you were gonna get better like Britney did. But this look right here made it sort of official. You are actually a crack hoe. *bows head down in shame and sighs* I will give you the benefit of the doubt. But if only we could go back to the days when you were in Freaky Friday....I will even take Parent Trap if that's what's offered. *shrug*
