In a Royal Court the Monarchs have their constituents, friends, and family surrounding them on a day to day basis. (cuz there wasn't much do back then when you were a king) . So it was an ongoing party where people kicked with the royal family and talked about stuff all day.

Good Times

As we get deeper into October, which is our MM anniversary btw, you'll see us from time to time recapping some of the moments that made the site what it is...like the one below.


Basically we were all downtown to get some media work done for SYGU and basically chill out and we got hungry. So me and Octavius went and got some IMO'S while Twiggy got some Caleco's. While she was getting that we posted up on the curb and SMASHED that IMO'S. Lol, its moments like these that aren't always the biggest in life but you enjoy the most sometimes. You know the Monarchs are always hyping up the stylish and debonaire brand of BKc aka Brooklyn Circus. Found in select places, BKc is hitting fields (and eyes) everywhere. Well now they actually have a blog for us fans to view. It is still being worked on (you will be able to tell when you try to click things and the site will give you a *blank face*) but for now, you get an inside, and recent look on whats going on with the brand and the people.

CHARLES HAMILTON DON'T DO STL! STEALING BEATS AINT KOOL

THIS IS THE EMAIL I GOT FROM MY GUY SPADE HIMSELF

Yo! So this is the beat Charles Hamilton CLAIMS he created. In short, when I was in Austin to perform and check out SxSW, I caught his set. He performed one of his tracks, "Shinin'", which I thought was dope. However, come to find out the instrumental that he used for that track is a beat I produced a while back. After he was done performing, I let him know that I produced the beat and asked him where he got it from. In the back of my mind I know that the only place he really could have gotten it from was off my MySpace page. When I told him I produced the track and liked his lyrics, he still continued to say that HE produced the track with some dude....FALSE. He said he cleared the sample and that he is the one singing 'Shinin' in the background and also that his homeboy was playing the keys on the track.

Now mind you, the background 'Shinin' vocals that he claims he laid were not laid in the studio at all. I know this because I sampled them by singing directly into the MPC.

Basically, the Frankie Beverly & Maze sample at the beginning is from when I put the beat up on MySpace. The whole point of putting that part in the track was to show that I was about to produce, from that part, my own version of the sample. So, if you don't hear the Frankie Beverly & Maze sample in the MP3 I am sending you, that is why.

Please Blog, a brotha needs his credit...

So i am checking my usual sites and everything and i come across this crazy article on Freshselects.net that reads "Charles Hamilton steals beats: Black Spade’s "Shinin"... I was like WHAAAA?!? So upon further reading it turns out that this seems to be a habit for this dude. In the article [CLICK HERE FOR ARTICLE] Freshselects.net puts up both beats for listening and you can CLEARLY tell that he jack Spade's beat, he's tries to defend himself by saying he's had the beat for years, but one thing he can't refute is that SPADE'S VOICE IS ON BOTH BEATS!!

Now here's the kicker, he actually ended up performing this in front of Black Spade, and him being the type of man he is he didnt even get mad. He just approached him, told him he made the beat and he even told him he liked what he did with it, but Charlie boy insists that it's his beat CHIN*. He needs to own up to stealing the beat or fall back, that just aint kool. But in the end its like my moms always says... "whats done in the dark comes out in the light"
