A LETTER TO THE KING

DEAR KING,
THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DID FOR US...BUT I WOULD LIKE TO SAY SORRY FOR WHAT WE ARE DOING TO YOU...AND THAT IS NOT LIVING THE DREAM YOU DREAMED. I'M GOING TO SPEAK FOR MYSELF WITH THIS ONE:
I LIVE IN A CITY WERE THERE IS LOVE AND HATE...BUT I SEE MORE HATE THAN LOVE. MURDER, DRUGS, & VIOLENCE ALMOST EVERYDAY. THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU DREAMED. HAPPINESS, LOVE, AND FREEDOM IS WHAT YOU DREAMED RIGHT?...SO IF THAT'S WHAT YOU WANTED, HOW COME IT'S SO HARD FOR MY PEOPLE TO HAVE THE SAME DREAM AS YOU? WHEN I SAY MY PEOPLE, I'M NOT JUST TALKING ABOUT BLACK PEOPLE...I'M SPEAKING FOR ALL RACES...JUST LIKE AS YOU WERE. EQUAL RIGHTS ARE SOMETHING YOU SPOKE ABOUT...BUT YET THERE IS STILL HATE AND NO APPRECIATION FOR ALL THAT HAS BEEN OVERCOME. HOW COULD ONE MAN (YOU) GET 1 MILLION PPL TO MARCH AND BECOME AS 1? AMAZING! WILL THAT...BETTER YET...COULD IT EVER HAPPEN AGAIN? SORRY FOR BEING SO NEGATIVE BUT I DON'T BELIEVE I AM...I'M JUST BEING REAL. THERE HASN'T BEEN SUCH A POWERFUL PERSON LIKE YOU ON THIS PLANET THAT COULD PULL SOMETHING LIKE THAT TOGETHER YET AND I'M AFRAID THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER. KING, YOU SHOWED PEOPLE ALL AROUND HOW TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER... TO STAND UP FOR THEIR RIGHTS...TO LIVE THEIR LIVES AND NOT TO LIVE SOMEONE ELSE'S. TODAY I PERSONALLY SEE PEOPLE LIVING THEIR LIVES AS THE PEOPLE THEY SEE ON TV...TURNING THEMSELVES INTO SOMEONE THEY ARE NOT...SPEAKING LIKE THEM AND EVEN DRESSING LIKE THEM. HOW CAN THIS COME TO A PAUSE KING? WHAT CAN 1 DO TO PUT AN END TO ALL THIS HATE? MY ANSWER IS CROWNING ANOTHER KING LIKE YOU, BUT THE BIG QUESTION IS WILL THERE EVER BE ANOTHER? A QUESTION THAT MAY NEVER HAVE AN ANSWER...

PEACE AND LOVE
ADRIAN O WALKER.

real shit fam... that's a scary question to ask fam? i think there will never be another MLK, personally... not because there isn't someone that has the capabilities he has, but because our people aren't as united as we once were. our battle is more within ourselves now! we kill each other more than any hate group. the most detrimental thing within our community is the self-hatred we hold within.

You raise good points.

I agree with "Nichols", it is the fact that our generation is changing. The people of today are very "I" oriented. People tend to mainly think about themselves and that is promoted in today's culture...."i"phone, "i"pod, "i"this and "i"that.

Back in the days of MLK people were united together against a common enemy and that bonded them together. In my opinion that same sense of urgency about when people can/will rally up is very few and far between because the reasoning has to be as severe as it was then (i.e. being free) for it to happen.

I disagree that there will never be another King because just last year President Obama was able to rally SO many people behind his cause, provide inspiration, and be a supreme positive role model. Yes people like to dress and imitate the people that they see, but now they are doing that like Obama. They want to be the next Obama and that's beautiful.

So my answer to your question is YES we need a national hero (another DR. King), BUT WE (all the "i"s of American) need to be the Hero for our heros and make as much of a change in our personal community as we can to prepare their mindset for the journey that our national hero will take us on. We need to spread the message of love.

MLK R.I.P.

I See U Weez, But U Forgot About The History Bein Made During Our Generation. A New King Has Been Crowned. Drawing Crowds Of All Races, Equally Match To Those Of Dr. King. I Feel On Da Violence. But Violence Has Been Around Since The Beginning Of Time And Seriously As Long As People Feel Strongly About Their Own Beliefs And Opposing Sides Coexist, Violence Will Remain Constant. Its Phuked Up But The Truth Is The Truth And Besides A Little Leeway, Dr. Kings Dream Stays Just That...
